Weekly wrap up

Sorry I haven’t been posting lately, as I have been extremely busy trying to get my assignments completed for uni. I have created my own ‘fan page’ on facebook I have attached the link below, please like it and share it.

The last two weeks have been fairly challengeing trying to mange my time with training, Uni and also work. Last weekend I travelled down to Wynnum Redlands Canoe Club and competed in the Tingapla Trot. It was a challenging, winding and narrow 10km course, at some stages it was wide enough for only one boat, and there were trees that you had to dodge. I couldn’t of asked for any better weather either, the sun was out and hardly any wind.  I raced up and paddled in the opens age group where I got second behind Timothy Stenlake.

Time is counting down until I leave for Hawaii; I am getting more and more excited as the day draws closer. On Friday it will be 4 weeks (28 Days) until I touchdown and 5 weeks on Sunday until race day. It’s been a long time between blogs so I will try to fill you in quickly, since my last blog I raced at the Canadian Surfski Championships (13 th ) and Gorge Downwind Championships (16 th ). Along with racing ocean ski, I also competed in the United States of America National Surf Lifesaving Championships at Hermosa Beach, where I competed in the Single Ski (2 nd ), Ironman (4 th ), Board Race (5 th ), Taplin Relay (5 th ) and Board Rescue (7 th ). Overall I was the 4 th highest point scoring male although I only competed in 5 out of 15 events.   I would like to say thank you to Scott Diederich for the use of both his prone paddle board and surfski. 'Murica Part 1

Beaches, fireworks and workouts, over the last month my life has been filled with great memories with a lot of different people. After the Maui Jim Oceanfest (3-5 th June) I flew across America having a quick stop over at LA and Dallas Fort Worth and arriving in Destin, Florida. For the first 2 weeks I worked with Destin Fire and Rescue as a Lifeguard, where I attended a few first aid cases as a first responder. On the 23 rd June I travelled with a small group of Destin lifeguards to the 904 (Jacksonville Beach) to compete in the 23 rd Annual Jax beach lifeguard challenge. The first two events of the days were the ski relay and the taplin (6-person Ironman relay) where me and my team got 1 st place in both events. The next couple of events included beach relay, board rescue relay, rescue tube relay, board relay and beach flags. Overall my team from D-town got 3 rd place to St Johns County and Jax beach. The first strokes of 2017

It’s been a while since posts, but during this time I’ve enjoyed my offseason, it gave me a lot more time to chill out, go surfing, play golf and go on mini adventures with my friends and family. I also got the chance to see one of my favourite bands, Coldplay live in Brisbane and it was one of the most incredible things I’ve seen.   I started training again the second weekend of January and was feeling stronger, jumping back into gym with Miguel at Miguel’s 24-hour fitness which is conveniently a 3 min bike ride from house. Oh and I started bike riding- Yes I have joined the trend and have become a man in lycra. As the weekend of Australia day (January 26 th ) went by, so did the feeling of good training.
